Applying some cosmetics can be bothersome, especially if you have a physical condition that makes it difficult. There’s a solution for you, in micropigmentation.
What is Micropigmentation?
Micropigmentation, also referred as dermal-pigmentation, is a process whereby completely natural inorganic pigments are implanted into the dermal layer (second layer of skin and beneath the top layer of skin, also known as epidermis), by needle micro insertion. This technique has been medically developed and specifically designed for a safe semi-permanent application. Permanent cosmetics is a safe and natural-looking alternative to the expense and daily routine of applying makeup upon waking in the morning and often times throughout the day. It is a state-of-the-art technique of applying long lasting makeup via intradermal micropigmentation. Properly applied by an experienced physician, nurse or technician, micropigmentation will be more natural and realistic in appearance as compared to conventional cosmetics. The medical grade pigments used have been specially formulated for this kind of procedure.
How is micropigmentation done?
Typically, micropigmentation can be performed in an office setting. The procedure will be performed with a pen-like instrument or standard tattoo gun. Your doctor or specialist should wear medical gloves when performing the procedure. The procedure itself will take a short amount of time, perhaps 20 minutes to a half hour at most. If you are receiving anesthesia, you will be required to arrive earlier in order to let the anesthesia take effect. After the procedure, your specialist or doctor will provide you with an antiseptic to cleanse the treated region.
Micropigmentation is beneficial if you:
- Have allergies to cosmetics and want a made up appearance.
- Do not have time and patience for daily makeup.
- Have an active lifestyle and want waterproof and sweat proof makeup.
- Have an imperfection of lips or eyebrows to correct.
- Have lost your eyebrows due to disease or any other reason.
- Are unable to apply makeup because of a physical or visual disability.
- Wear contact lenses.
- Have an area of hypo-pigmentation in a scar, area of vitiligo or burns.
- Want to reduce the visual effect of scalp hair loss.
- Have had breast surgery and want a natural looking nipple area.
- Men or women regardless of age can benefit if they fall in any category above.
